i didn't know it then, but i loved you.
it was when you came downstairs and sat next to me at breakfast that i knew; you smiled, and i knew.
it was you that showed me your nintendo ds under a tent in the rain when i forgot mine in the car. you showed me your pokémon game and i remembered that forever.
i made this for you because you made me feel special at 8.
at 13 we ate cupcakes in a storefront window and ran across the street to a corner store to look at pokémon cards and lego sets.
you left with the promise of another day. that day did not come.
if today is that day, then i still love you.
